Who we are
Reservoir Associates provides independent medico-legal and expert witness services in matters relating to mental capacity, Court of Protection proceedings, and deprivation of liberty.
The practice is led by a GMC-registered General Practitioner with over twenty years’ post-qualification experience and more than a decade of post-CCT practice in UK primary care.
Professional experience includes work as a GP partner, research clinician, health system leader, and ongoing locum and out-of-hours practice. This background provides extensive experience in assessing complex medical, cognitive, psychological, and social needs in community and acute settings.
Regular clinical work involves the assessment and management of vulnerable adults, patients with cognitive impairment, mental health conditions, and complex long-term illness. This includes frequent assessment of decision-making capacity, safeguarding concerns, and high-risk care decisions.
Reservoir Associates provides independent, balanced, and evidence-based medical opinions in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Court of Protection guidance, and CPR Part 35 requirements. All reports are prepared with a clear understanding of the expert’s duty to the Court.
The practice is committed to:
Professional independence and impartiality
Clear, structured, and accessible reporting
Respect for individual rights and autonomy
Proportionate and legally compliant assessments
Prompt and reliable service
Services are provided to solicitors, local authorities, and other professional bodies involved in Court of Protection and related proceedings.
